Very nice: Caramel, Toffee and roasted malts

Sampled @ BKL 2018. A clear red brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of breadish malt, caramelish malt. Taste of caramelish sweet dark malt, bread, a bit too sweet.

Flasche 0,5l: Schwarz mit leichtem Rotstich, klar, feinporiger fester Schaum; kräftige malzige Süße in der Nase, Malzzucker, sehr würzig, dunkle Fruchtaromen, Holunder, Röstaromen, Kaffee; im Körper frisch und fruchtig, malzige Süße, würzige Noten, ungeröstete Kaffeebohnen, Kaffee; trockener würziger Nachgang, dunkle Schokolade

Pours light red-brown color with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel and light citrus.

Bottle: Clear, chestnut-amber coloured, mid-sized lacy off-white head; caramelly to dark-malty nose, unfermented barley underneath, hoppy traces as well; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, not soft, but neither watery nor extremely light bodied; slightly lingering dark-malty-grainy finish with a nice balancing bitterness. Not my favourite style, but this one is at least quite well drinkable…
