750ml bottle, corked and caged, from the lcbo. Pours a light brown, almost orange with a medium white head. Tart cherries, woody Bourbon barrel, light spice, and hints if vanilla. Mouth feel is very effervescent, with a lively carb. Finish is very sour, with an interesting bourbon/ candied cherry finish. Lots of woody, earthy barrel, sweet cherries and sour stone fruit. Complex and very interesting.

750mL 2015 bottle drunk 7/1/22. Deep cherry red with burgundy and tan highlights. Large, off-white head steadily fades to cover/ring. Good clarity. Good blend of acetic, lactic, malic acids with light oxidation adding layers of vanilla and light bread. Cherries are rich and deeply fruity with good acidity and spicy pit notes. The apricot pits probably contribute to this, as well. No alcohol, surprisingly. Soft, rich, malty, deeply acidic and tart with tons of rich cherry and spicy apricot/cherry pit notes. Long barrel finish mixing tannin, oak and plentiful vanilla-like oxidation. Chewy texture with light alcohol and some big bursts of acetic acid. But other than that, it's absolutely delightful and despite the intensity/richness and strong malt texture, doesn't seem overly gratuitous on the abv (this bottle is listed at 10.3). That said, it still seems somewhat excessive, even if they are calling this a Quad base.

Geprobeerd op de Addictee2craftBeer Bottle Share! Het is een licht troebel rood achtig bier. Het heeft een fruitige en zure geur. De smaak is zurig met tonen van aardbeien.
