(Bottle) Reddish brown colour with lasting, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dark rye bread, dried fruit, treacle, chocolate, coffee, hints of smoke and a touch of rowan-berry jelly. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, brown sugar, dried fruit, prunes, coffee, orange peel, dark chocolate and a finish with a balanced spicy bitterness and a touch of alcohol. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite well balanced for its strength. Very nice.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - batch 390 - BBE 2014-09-05, from Systembolaget, 20130430) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had chocolate and molasses. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were molasses, malts, chocolate, sweetness, roasted malts, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Aroma was pleasant but the taste was unbalanced and surprisingly thin.

33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #390, BBE 06.09.2014
Aroma has nuts, butterscotch, grain, some sourness, berries, earthy and oaky notes – feels a bit like a german lager! Flavour is malty with woody notes, raisins, nuts, some ripe fruits, coffee and hops. Interesting, not the most typical scotch.
