Sampled from tap at the Oedipus International Beer Festival 2016. Black with a frothy, beige head. Sweetish, sourish-fruity aroma of chocolate, cherries, oak and blackcurrant. Sweetish, sourish-fruity taste of chocolate, cherries, vinegar, blackcurrant and oak, followed by a short, quite tart finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and a little astringent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Really nice!

Mellow, soft imperial porter, but awesomely sour. Fruity but dry. Did I mention sour? We need more of this.

2011 bottle. Nose of bourbon, chocolate, cherry, vinegar, dark fruits. Lactose flavor, chocolate, vanilla, yogurt, cherry, caramel, apples, vinegar, bourbon. ALso get raisins and something like Umeshu (plum liqueur). Very well ages, with much less of the shocking sourness in a fresh Cascade beer.

Draft pour at the Barrel house, out of the love barrel. I remember getting a group together last ago to try this, and somehow forgot to rate. This was not a beer that deserved to be rated on any memory at all, and I’m not sure if such beer exists. Near black pour with a sticky foam lacing. Soft roast and dark fruit aroma. Flavor has a nice roast to it, with dark fruit, some chocolate, and just enough bourbon to know its there. Lingering roast finishes this nicely. Awesome sour.
