Another brewery that we’ve been following closely, but have seemingly managed to pass like ships in the night throughout our existence; Pomona Island broke onto the UK brewing scene in 2019 and haven’t looked back since - a welcome addition to the Manchester brewing community and proof that the hype doesn’t just exist behind Piccadilly Station. As it had been so overdue for us to collaborate together on a beer, we figured we may as well go all out when inviting our friends from Salford to North Wales - where else could we go than to brew our biggest triple IPA yet? A four way dance of the freshest possible crops of Mosaic, Citra, Talus and Strata, we wanted to bring the flavour to the max on this beer, without that cloying sweetness that can befell the style. We’d say we’ve knocked it out of the park with this beer - if we’d have packed anymore into this beer we’d be bursting at the seams; with 24g/l of bold passionfruit, tangerine, sweet berries and coconut, with a whisper of rosewater and sage for complexity, this is definitely a beer fit for a birthday celebration.

Thanks fonefan! Slightly hazy golden colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, some peach, mild alcohol and some sprucetips and a bit tropical fruity tones. Flavour is peach, some caramel, toasted tones with mild tropical fruits and some slight alcohol and spiciness to it. Alcohol does show a slight bit.

Can from The Beerhive. Milky golden body with an off-white head. No visible carbonation. Aroma of overripe melon and pine. Flavour of lime chutney, pine and a peppery hop finish. Medium to full body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A boozy, heavy TIPA. It’s pretty good but I hoped for more - it’s a sipper.

Can 44cl. @home poured into a shaker. Strong fruity nose. Murky yellow golden colour, good frothy white head, good retention, thick lacing. Aroma pale malt, mango, stone fruit, pineapple, pine. Taste medium sweet and bitter, mango, stone fruit, pineapple, resinous impression, alcohol. Medium to full body, juicy texture, soft carbonation, fruity sweetbitter aftertaste, resinous character remains till the end, spicy notes, very nice.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 31 Jan 2025) Cloudy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with pineapple, mango, grapefruit, resin and grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, resin, white bread and a generous citric/resiny bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. Dank, hoppy, juicy and a bit boozy. Very nice.
