Smakprov på Brewskival 2019. Söt, stor kropp, syrlig och lite stram med en hel del brett och sött dessertvin. Fin balans men smakerna är inte riktgt mogna och utvecklade och den dör lite snabbt. Annars gott.

Bottle picked up from Dranken Geers Oostakker nr Gent Belgie. Consumed at home Attenkirchen Saturday 22nd June 2019. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Thick in the mouth, barrel ageing is very obvious straight away, a slight musty and woody edge. Strong tasting, warming, soft in the mouth, it's just a touch boozy but very good. Like this.

But why those low scores, folks? I did quite enjoy this sip. 33 cl bottle served in the classic Letra glass, which is nothing out of this world, lemme tell you. But... okay. So, this pours dark cloudy amber with a mostly diminishing, off-white head that leaves but a very thin layer on top. Aroma is not so intense, but in its subtlety intense it is: loads of sour red berries, such as strawberry or cherry (yum!) along with some grapes and green apples. Not bad, not bad, my dear friends. What about the sip'n'swallow? Well, to begin with, this is dry, and dry I like my beer most of the time (yeah, yeah, we all like a strong sweet dessert ale, but that's just for dessert, c'mon, you know it.) After the dry beginning, we get some medium body and quite a high crisp note, followed by this total abscence of bitterness. No sir, no bitter flavors tonite... The only downside: it doesn't linger long in the mouth :-( But nonetheless, it lasts enough to keep you smiling long :-) Oh, and btw, you'd never say this is 10% abv, so kudos to that.

Bottle (thanks fatphil). Pours dark golden-amber. Aroma is sweet, fruits, Belgian yeast. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, dryness, malt, sugar, some dirtiness. Overall: ok.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Dry fruity-malty aroma. Starts mild, malty, more and more fruity-sourish, notes of pear, some apple, mild sourish background. Finish again fruity like pears. Interesting.
