This beer is named after the town in which Rooster Cogburn lived. It is a big, bold pale ale, brewed using American hops to impart tropical and passion fruit aromas, plus a lasting, bitter finish.

Cask @ OT. Pours clear golden with a small frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some sparse trace on the glass. Smell is slightly malty and floral with crackers, caramel, freshly baked white bread, soil, hay, dried yellow flowers and lemon peal. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, slightly malty and floral with freshly baked bread, caramel, hay, orange pith, soil and lemon peal. Mouthfeel is soft, slightly flat, round, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with bread, caramel, hay, lemon pith and lemon peal. Solid floral hops on bready caramel malts. --- Beer merged from original tick of Fort Smith on 07 May 2015 at 21:54 - Score: 7. Original review text: Solid floral golden...

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thin off-white head. Lively carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of Earl Grey tea, grapefruit, tangerine, celery and toffee apple. Flavour of grapefruit, caramel and lemon sweets. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A subtle, moreish beer - lovely stuff.

(Cask at Kitty’s, 20141213) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small, white, dense and it lasted long. Aroma had fruitiness, pine, grass and earth. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, cirticness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was watery, hoppy and bitter. A tasty hoppy English ale.

Cask @ Gallows Bird. Aroma is rather fruity with hops, some pineapple and mango. Also hints of hay. Flavour has minerals, fruity hops and mango. Finishes bitter and a bit acrid with minerals, herbs and nettles. The minerals and acrid tones disturb too much at the end of the glass. More fruits please!
