Bottle. Pours cloudy nearly black with airy but stable light tan head. Clear aroma of dried fruit, malt and caramel. Sweetish flavour of malt, with vinous and fruity notes and roasty touches. Bitter finish with notes of roasted coffee. Interesting and decent.

330 ml bottle. Black body with a small beige head. Aroma has dark malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, dominated by chocolate but also some coffee and balanced bitterness. Full bodied and a good aftertaste with even more sweet chocolate. Lots of flavor and impressive balance for this relatively low ABV.

Bottle. It pours a next to black body and a small, beige head. The aroma has coffee, roasted malts and milk chocolate, all appropriate for a sweet stout, but still a bit boring. The same could be said of the rather sweet flavor. Some bitterness is kicking in towards the finish, but it doesn’t prevent it from feeling too one tracked. Medium body and a nice carbonation level. Anyway, it’s a nice beer, althouth a tad too sweet and boring. 140207

Keg at Brasserie 4:20, Roma, 09/02/14. Black with a good sized tan head that retains well. Nose is roast malt, light smoke, liqourice, earthy, dark toffee, hoppy backnotes. Taste comprises light coffee, roast malt, ash, dark toffee, hint of smoke, chocolate. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Ok easy drinker.

Bottle from Luppolo L’Ottavo Nano, Palermo; bb 12/2014
Black color with excessive head. Mild aroma of roasted malt. The mouthfeel is very dry, overly carbonated, with ashy roasted malts; no lactose, no residual sweetness and no vanilla detected; probably it refermented too much in the bottle.

SELL BY 12/2014 - Pours pitch black with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, sweet milk chocolate, lactic notes, hints of cocoa and vanilla. Taste is smooth, slightly lactic and roasty with hints of cocoa and vanilla. Finish is roasty, milky and slightly bitter with hints of cocoa and milk chocolate. A bit unbalanced, but quite impressive for the low ABV.

Bottle brought back from a trip to Rome by my wife, one of about 10 she lugged back for me, bless her. This beer pours almost black in colour, with a very big frothy tan head, which faded away fairly quickly. Aroma of roasted malts, sweet biscuit, chocolate, fruit and nut. Light/medium bodied, some bitterness to finish. A little dryness, and slight sourness mixed with the sweet. Nice beer.

Duft av kaffe og lakris. Dyp sort farge. Tynn hinne av karamellfarget skum. Smak av kafe og en anelse lakris.

Fajna czaszka na etykiecie. Piwo o wielkiej pianie i trwalej. Do konca picia byla spora, a nawet po wypiciu piwa pozostala na dnie szklanicy. Piekna brazowa i drobna. Rewelacja jak ten kot. W smaku sporo palonosci lekka slodycz gdzies w tle ale wytrawnosc tu guruje. Finisz podobny dlugi wytrawny i bardzo wyrazisty. Same plusy dla tego rewelacyjnego piwa z rewelacyjnego browaru.
