The people of Tampa Bay have fallen prey to a pirate invasion annually for well over 100 years. After more than a century of failing to repel these seafaring raiders in their anachronistic wooden ships and despite access to modern sea, land and air arsenals that ostensibly should make short work of wind powered vessels equipped with naught but cast iron cannons and raging scurvy, it occurred to the folks of Cigar City Brewing that if you can’t beat them, start saying “Arrrr Matey!” We have brewed Invasion Pale Ale, a citrusy, tropical and low-alcohol session beer brewed for those long days of marauding, pillaging and pirating. Cheers!

Canned. Poured orange yellow. Lots of tropical fruits and a resin yang. Pretty good for the low abv.

Can. Golden in color. Had note of tropical fruit but I didn't care for it.

From tap at Borefts 2016. Aroma is fresh fruity hops, stone fruits, peach, citrus, tropical notes. Flavour is lightly sweetish and above medium bitter. Body is medium. An excellent crisp fruity hoppy Pale Ale.

Tap at Craft House. Bright orange-amber with a thick head. Hoppy nose, tropical fruits, dank, herbal, Chinook-like and a bit resiny too. Thick and fruity, nice sweetness level, a bit dank, bitter, herbal and resinous. Nice one.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 18B). Can 35.5 cl - Batch 244 6733 (BBF unknown - canned on 01/30/20). AROMA: medium hop aroma with fresh-green notes (lime, green mango). low neutral malt background with a slight sweet note. APPEARANCE: deep gold color and clear. medium to medium-low white head with average retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with a sessionable flavor profile of medium green mango, slight lime and pine hop notes. low neutral malt background, soft and slightly sweet. medium to medium-high bittterness with a dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a nice american pale ale still in good condition.

Day 9 of our Florida-trip-lockdown-at-home. 12 fl. oz. can from Beer Republic. Hazy dark golden with a nearly two finger white head in the glass. Tropical fruity smell with pine an resin. Taste starts with an intensive tropical hop bitterness. Licorice and resin. Low carbonated. Malt in the second row. Taste thins a little bit out in the second part but long lasting hop bitterness in the aftertaste.

Can bought from Beautiful Beers and drunk at home. Light to mid-gold and clear. There's a little ring of white head. Marmalade and lemon biscuit in the aroma with some floral notes. Taste is fairly bitter with astringent hops to the fore. Lemon peel and a tpuch of TCP in the finish. Medium to heavy carbonation. Not the hoppiest APA you're likely to have, but it's got some decent character.
