Cask at MoCa, Matlock. Darkest mahogany colour with a thin, milky coffee coloured head. Aromas of coffee, cocoa, a hint of licorice. Taste is a roast coffee bean bitterness. A smooth mouthfeel keeps the bitterness from overpowering. Good beer that belies its low ABV.

On tap at The Wellington, pours an amber-tinged black with a small tan head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, light powdered cocoa, and some toasted malt. Flavour of dry roasted malt, toasted malt and some bitter dry cocoa. Finishes on dry, bitter notes of cocoa and toasted malt. Light-bodied and very drinkable for a stout. Good stuff.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Quite much pitch black colour with a small beige head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, mild liquorice and roast with some slight toffee as well. Flavour is rather similar in a very pleasant balance. Rather bodied for being only 4.5 %.
