Hand-pulled third of a pint in The Boot, Wellington on 15th May 2024. Black has been dropped from it's name, but it's still a 4 grain Stout at 4.1% ABV. It is in fact 'black' in colour, tanned foam on top. Smells grainy and tastes grainy, roasted barley mostly, some hop action too, nice easy drinking Stout!

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 11 Apr 2014) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted oats and dark fruit. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, caramel, dried fruit, coffee and a generous roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced stout. Very nice.

Cask @ NWAF, Derby. Very dark brown, almost black. Opaque. Malty, nutty, slightly sour aroma. Sweet, easy, malty taste, somewhat less complex than promised by the aroma. Undemanding, refreshing stout.
