Old rating - A half pint from the cask at the 2019 Beer & cider festival in St Helier, Jersey. Pours a red/brown colour with a white foamy head. Aromas of chestnuts and malt. Tastes of chestnuts, nuts, grain & caramel. Medium bodied. A mildly fruity malty bitter. A superb bitter.

1/3 cask pour at GBBF Winter. Amber pour, with a small, stiff head. Aroma is malty, nutty, toffee. Taste mirrors the nose, rich malty flavors, silky smooth feel and a fair amount of bitterness at the end.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Murky amber-brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malty and bready with hints of dried fruit and caramel. Taste of malts, nuts, grass, dried fruit tang, fairly sweet but nice bitterness. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation. Good bitter.

Gravicask at 37th Fleetwood Beer & Cider Festival. Shared with Finn. Bubbles on the surface of a clear dark amber coloured body. Fair lacing. Smell of earthy malts with a touch of fruity hops. Blended taste of grain, nuts, caramel and herbal hops. Malt-fruity finish. Medium bodied. Pleasing. (07.02.2019).

21/5/2018. Bottle at the Kiln, Newcastle. Pours thick mid brown with a small creamy off-white head. Had been fridge stored and took a while to clear as a result. Aroma of caramel, malt, fruit, berries, nut and bread. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, thick texture, average to soft carbonation. Nice bitterness to finish. Much better when it had lost its coldness.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - cloudy amber brown. Decent head. Nose - chocolate and toffee. Biscuits. Taste - spiced biscuit and light toffee. A persistent apple note keeps going. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - solid but probably better on draught. A bit gnarly.
