Bottle 500ml.Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, wood - teak, light to moderate licorice - anis. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, burnt bitter, wood bitter, anis, brett, burnt brown sugar. Quit titillating .. but for me a bit unfinished - young. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121211]

Near black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, cherry and funk. Sweetish and slightly tart flavour dominated by roast malt, with leather, cherry, grass and spice. A little too much and too many different things going on

Bottle bought at Barley Wine in November 2012. Almost black with medium, tan head. Aroma and taste of malt, wood, some smoke, cherries, light brett, berries and light spices. The finish was very dry.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with unstable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and raisins. Bittersweet, sourish taste of malt and spices with a dryish aftertaste. Quite ok.

Bottle, 9.5%. Vinous and sour aroma. Has some sour rag notes and sweet berry. Almost black colour, vred shine. Seems clear. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is sweet and quite citric. Has some brett and a lot of berry citrus. Late roasted note as well. Refreshing for such a heavy beer, but the balance is a bit off, I think.
