The ultimate tribute to the Cistercian monks of Belgium! This light bodied, pale beer is bursting with fruity esters and spicy phenolics. Apple and pear aromas combine with banana to produce a complex aromatic bouquet, while light pepper and clove spiciness give this beer a bite at the finish. This beer will deceive you with its high alcohol content. Dangerously drinkable!

Brewery draught, 8/12/26.
Spicy phenolics but no huge clove. Despite how malty their beers are on average, this one smells, at least, quite dry. Stone fruit and a hint of balsamic, ever so slightly.
Still very malty, though, despite the nose appearing more dry. If these guys could just get a bit more attenuation on their beers they'd be a standout here in MA. As is, just a bit too sluggishly sweet. But the yeast profile is classy. More slight vinousness is lovely. No alcohol noted.

5 oz. pour on tap as part of a flight at the brewery. Clear, pale gold w/nice sparkle, thin head w/good retention & tons of lacing. Aroma is strong wheat, fruity esters. Taste is strong wheat, fruit esters, yeast. Smooth texture, soft carbonation. Good for style.
