Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt whilst the ball travels at speeds up to 188 mph! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dubbed this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, “the merry game.” Tampa was once home to a bustling Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. Pair Jai Alai India Pale Ale with beef empanadas, deviled crabs and other spicy dishes.

From a 355ml can on 15/7/2017. Pour a slightly cloudy medium golden with a small head. The aroma is mainly fruity hops with some light zest. Flavour wise, there’s some caramel and biscuit malt, with sweet citrus and stone fruit following (orange and apricot). An intense lemon, grapefruit and kaffir lime leaf bitterness finishes things off, providing a wonderful and distinct balance to the fruity sweetness up front. Has a smooth, relatively thick palate, with moderate carbonation. This is my first Cigar City and I’m not disappointed. A lovely, hoppy top flight IPA.

Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, félbarnába hajló rezes szín. Citrusos, déligyümölcsös, ananászos illatok, pici gyantával. Hajszálnyit édeskés és egy kicsit fanyar, citrusos, grapefruitos, mandarinos, déligyümölcsös, ananászos…, igazi gyümölcsorgia. Egy picit gyantás, közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas és keserű. Gazdag ízvilágú, kiválóan kiegyensúlyozott, nagyszerű arányokkal rendelkező IPA.

Lata 33 cl en Cimmeria 01..04..2017. (r1754). Color ámbar anaranjado velado con espuma beige que desaparece al poco. Sabores bastante afrutados Naranjas amargas pomelo algo de piña con ligeras dosis finales de suaves resinoso s algo herbaceos ligeramente especiada. Cuerpo medio espumoso ligeramente denso y suave.

29-03-17 // can at Csak a jó sör! Budapest. Hazy orange beer with small white hhead. Intense hoppy nose. Loads of pine and citrus. Taste is medium sweet, sweet malty, loads of hops. Pine, citrus, lemon, honey. Bitter finish. Great.

Can. Appearance- amber, pretty clear, lots of bubbles, a large pillowy off-white head which lasts. Aroma- caramel malt, orange, hops, pineapple, mango traces, fruit juice, fresh hops. Taste- bitter hops, orange peel, marmalade, sticky malt, caramel, juicy hop resin, pineapple juice, grapefruit. Quite a full and lengthy mouthfeel, long bitter fruity finish. Very well-balanced and tasty IPA.
