1/2 pour on tap at the brewery. It's an opaque black with no sparkle, finger-width tan head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong coconut balanced with chocolate and sweet malts. Taste has good strength mirroring aroma with additional hint of fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, syrupy (not in a bad way) texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a dessert sipper, to be sure, but good balance evoking delicious German chocolate cake that doesn't go over the top.
