A deep dark brown porter with reddish hues, and a thin mocha head. In aroma, smooth sweet chocolate with light herbal notes and lactic points. In mouth, a grassy herbal chocolate with light funk, coffee, lactic points, not bad. 5$ for a glass at Calories, Saskatoon.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours dark brown with a reddish tinge. Aroma of English malts and light spices (vanilla and nutmeg). Flavour is much the same - medium and soft/warm body, though lacking any particular depth. Decent.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color ale with a small foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of cacaco, some subtle dry coffee and some roasted malt. Taste is dominated by some semi-dry black chocolate with some subtle notes of coffee with some bitterness form roasted malt. Body is full with some medium to low carbonation and a creamy texture. Very well done with some similarities to Fuller porter.

mMch blacker than expected. Milk chocolate and hazelnuts dominate nose. Not too sweet. The mouth is not as smooth or sweet as expressed, slightly sour. Milk chocolate hazelnut finish. Too hoppy. Not as balanced as expected, but not bad. Too astringent.

Very dark brown. Fudgey nose with light roast and some hop woodiness. Toasty, lightly roasty flavour. Full body. Sweetish, fudgey character with a coffee ground grittiness. Full-bodied porter.
