Pyramid Hefeweizen has long been the standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. But its more than just an unfiltered, smooth and refreshing ale. It’s inspired by the purity of the wild Northwest and its pristine waters.

Old rating from 2002 - Pint at the brewhouse in Seattle. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of banana, clove, lemon, caramel, herbs, toffee, bread, hints of spice & yeast. Medium body. Slight dry mild bitter finish

Cloudy amber color. Slight funky aroma. It’s missing the typical banana bread on the nose. Creamy texture with little of the typical Hefeweizen sweetness, more of a funky yeast flavor.

Bomber from Albertsons. I am so glad that this is listed as a wheat ale. I would have given it horrible scores as a weizen. Orange golden pour, small fizzy head fades to flat in an instant. Not much to the aroma, light grainy notes, minuscule amounts of citrus and yeast. Taste yields some white bread flavors ( now that's exciting, isn't it?). Wow. That's it. A few points for a nice feel, but pretty underwhelming overall.

On draught at Buffalo wild wings.
Cloudy orange with a lot of foam. Decent lacing.
Man is that nose light. Wheat, only hints of it really. As far as spices and fruits go, I don’t get any. Same goes for the taste. This is a Wheat ale not a Hefeweizen.

355 ml bottle, in Sacramento. Except for the hops being American and not German, this could easily pass as a German Hefeweizen. Hazy pale straw colour, white head. Typica h.w. aroma and flavour of citrus, banana and cloves. Refreshing and pleasant to drink.

Bottle from Homeplus  in Seoul. Served in a weizen glass. A nice golden cloudy wheat pour with a thick light beige head. The nose is yeasty bready graham. The taste is bready sweet yeasty banana. The body is med-light but it has a bready honey quality to it. The taste is sweet honey graham with a light fruitiness. Average.

Draft pour many times over the years. Pours a cloudy banana orange color with a patchy head. Soft, sweet fruit aroma. Flavor is very grainy, with hints of tropical fruit throughout. Not a very enjoyable beer for me, but I’ll take it over its common competition most days. Gets old, but not horrible.
