Half-pint, cask served at the very right drinking temperature at the lovely Craft Beer Co in Islington. The appearance of the beer is very nice with a mahogany coloured body to a bright naked surface. Fine mixed aroma of mid-sweet malts and dried fruits. Taste follows suit with lightly smoked malts, oak and earth. Dry bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Very tasty even though the smoked part is rather subdued (London, 26.11.2012).

Cask @ OT. Pours hazy brown. Small white head. Some chocolate straight ahead. Then some tar-like smokeiness takes over, with notes of licorice and a bitter herbal hoppiness. Well balanced. Smooth. Quite creamy.
