(Cask at Kuikka, 20111109) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and white. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate and hint of smoke. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, hops, sweetness, mildly smoke and quite low bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty, bitter and very mildly smoky. A bit harsh porter with very little smoke.

Cask at CP&K. It pours dark brown, with a decent off-white head. The nose is smoke, caramel and a touch of dark fruit. The taste is caramel, wood, leather, dark fruit, subtle smoke, roasted malt and cardboard, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Much more smoke in the smell than taste. Not bad.

Cask, Cloisters, Edinburgh. Burgundy-brown. Lightly smokey, with some nuttiness as well, a mellow but plummy aroma. Toasty character, gets woody in the middle and then a good hit of beech (?) smoke comes through in the finish. It’s no Schlenkerla, but its a well-made smoked porter, on the mellow side.

Cask handpull at Evening Star, Brighton. Very dark brown with thin dark beige lasting head. Some smoke on aroma. Reminds me of Goachers Crown Imperial Stout. OK in mouth a little bit watery maybe. Some ok smoke on finsih. Fine. Just does not excite me much, or as much as I hoped when I saw the pump clip.

Cask at The Harp. Pours cloudy brown with a creamy tan cap. Roasted malts with chocolate and faint smoke comprise the aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet with nice, roasted malt character. Very slight bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes well balanced with sweet, roasty malts and dry bitterness. Great stuff.
