This style is the highest gravity offering in the bitters family, which originating as the draft range of English pale ales. Strong bitters work well as a choice for the winter warmer. Richly flavoured with bold malt and hop bitterness, medium bodied with a fruity estery character. Idea for those chilling winter evenings standing at the log fire of your local.

Cask gravity at Queen Elizabeth Hall. It pours clear pale brown with a tiny dirty white head. The nose is wood, leather, mild spice, dried fruit, faint caramel sweetness and cola. The taste is bitter, dried berry, leathery, wood, cola cubes some acidity and resin with a drying finale. Medium body and soft carbonation. Simple, but not bad.
