1/3 cask pour at GBBF Winter. Light amber pour with a small foamy head. Malty aroma, caramel, tobacco. Taste is malty, leathery, tobacco, toffee and a touch of dryness at the finish.

Bottle from Chester Beer and Wine. Clear chestnut with moderate sized off-white head. Malts, dried fruit, coffee and chocolate, brown sugar, some spice and sweetness in the finish. It has a reasonable malty depth to be fair with some layering of flavour without being too rich and losing its session drinkability A bit under-rated I think.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a dark chestnut with minimal cream head and good lacing. Malts, nuts and spices in the aroma. Mouthfeel has toffee, molasses, roast malts, and sices with traces of parkin and raisins. Finish is somewhat spicy. Reasonable enough, but a beer for sipping in small doses.
