Cask at the Fox & Hounds, Reading. Brown with a loose cream head. Roasted malts with a little sour fruit and cocoa. It’s just OK.

Cask @ Victorian Craft Beer Café, Halifax. Darker golden-brown, clear, with a glow and a frothy head. Includes a mix of dark malts and roasted malts that are stated enough in this relatively easy drinking mild. There’s a very mild nuttiness in here too.

Cask at The Stockbridge Tap. Clear amber/ruby body with a dense beige head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate, earth and plum. Flavour of berries, weak filter coffee and a tangy, bitter finish. Thin body with a smooth, creamy texture. Subtle and drinkable - exactly as a Mild should be.

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - close to opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - sweet malt and light chocolate. Some toffee. Taste - more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - one of the best milds I’ve had.
