Bottle from Wine Rack, Leeds. Clear copper-amber with next to no head. Has a fruity aroma and taste with some marzipan involved in the former. There’s a sugary malty-sweetness in the latter.

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Deep Amber colour, almost no head, and quite flat. The aroma has caramel, the taste malts and caramel, just a bit dull.

JDW Manchester & County 21 Jan 13. Mørk amber. Pent lavt og litt farget skum med mye lacing. Svak karamellaroma. Smaken litt vassen. Karamellpreg - men identitetsløs. Søt ettersmak.

Cask at Cloisters. Pours amber brown with a good white head. Very traditional toffee and light biscuit aromas. More toffee sweetness on the taste, a bit too much for me in the end. No carbonation, bit sticky in the texture. An OK bitter.

Rerating from bottle. Lovely red fruit and marzipan aromas mean the score needsto be increased. Previous rating 13/09/13 On tap @ Cloisters. We arrived around 9:30 to the ’’meet the brewer’’ event and the brewer had left at 6 - not sure how many people he would’ve met. This is an amber ale with a nice creamy head. The predominant aroma and taste is of toffee. There is a little bit of biscuit going on but mostly toffee. The palate is medium bodied and there’s a thick texture though the finish is a little too sweet and cloying. Overall, another solid bitter.
