Bottle at the White Horse. Cloudy orange blond colour with big white head. Aroma is a bit weird, but nice. Something savoury in there. Creamy fruity, strawberries and cream, bit citrus, floral. Taste is very fruity, citrus passion fruit, mango, touch of sourness. Spritzy in the mouth. Lots of creamy malt and lots of fruit with a long lasting orange fruity creamy finish. Very nice, not sure why it has such a low score. Very refreshing.

Bottle from GBBF 2013 drunk at home. Hazy orange gold with thick thick rocky beige head. Plain toffee aroma. I mean it does smell of Thorntons plain toffee. Which is fine, but not sure I really like this beer. It’s ok, but dull. Some bite on the finish. It’s like a toffeeish bitter. OK, but nothing to excite the beer drinker in me. Oh and it’s oxidised as well.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy dark golden color with a small foamy white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy candied golden fruits. The flavor was sweet and tangy sugar and a strong fruit cocktail presence. Very long sweet sugar and fruit cocktail finish. Moderately full bodied.

Slightly hazy pale golden colour, slight white head. Quite funky aroma, boiled egg, some malts. Light acidic flavour, quite fruity. Fruity sour finish.
Not bad, but not great either. Mainly a bit weird. Granted, it does have a fancy look with the wax and all, but the only question I have is: why?? It doesn’t seem to improve with aging, so why give the impression?
(From 35cL bottle shared @ ZZT V. Obtained through trade with mikem409. Thanks!)

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ Tasting by Benzai [ ZZT V ].Unclear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, tart fruit, peach, light pineapple. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Stange !! [20121006]

33cl bottle @ ZZT V. Opaque yellow-ish color, small white head that disappears fairly quickly. Smell and taste sourish, dusty, sour fruits, cellar and something weird. Low to medium body, medium carbo.

355ml bottle. Pours almost like orange juice in colour with a good head to start with. The head falls back to a thin layer of lace and there are gentle bubbles. The nose has initial some pungent sultana aroma but it subsides to leave a really green vegetable smell, maybe green beans which is then followed by a pungent earthy note, maybe rotting mangoes. The taste is like a cross between lemon meringue and mushy peas - weird. The palate is rich in structure with a tangy middle section texture and it cleans on the end. Overall, having tried two beers from this brewery, I’d say that it’s hard to define which style these beers fit into and also it’s hard to define the style of the brewery overall. Either they like mixing an unusual combination of ingredients within an unusual brewing process or their yeast is completely separate from the normal spectrum of yeasts held in breweries. Do I like it, well it’s better than the average beer I rate but not one of the best, on the other hand there is definitely room for this sort of diversity.

Bottle at Winking Lizard. The beer is a clear golden color with a medium white head that has pretty good retention. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bready malt and fruit. Light body with a fruity character and notes of sweet malt and yeast. The finish is fruity, malty and short. Just average overall.
