Pale Lager

New Belgium coworkers work in shifts to brew to life world-class beers. Those efforts are rewarded daily with a shared end-of-shift beer.
We're passing that welcomed occasion onto beer drinkers in this Shift Pale Lager. Think American pale ale meets American lager. It's easy to drink, crisp and congratulatory. So, clock out and crack open a Nelson Sauvin-hopped Shift Pale Lager to reward your work. Or play. Or, if you're like us, combine the two and surround yourself with drinking buddies.

Tap pour at the brewery in Fort Collins, July 2016. Pours mid to dark golden orange with a white top. Aroma: sweet malts, light hops. Taste: light sweet & bitter, grains, cracker, a little citrus peel, with a soft hoppy bitterness on the finish. Light body with average carbonation.

Part of mix pack managed to grab from grocery delivery. I feel like I had this brew back when I visited New Belgium like a decade ago but didn’t rate I guess or I’m mistaken. Deep gold pour with white head. Nose is light hops and some caramel. Tastes of grains, caramel, pine, faint citrus. Light hopping bitterness.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark blond color. Quite nice malt character, the hops are a bit grassy. Robust body for the style. Not bad.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp grassiness and biscuity malt. Decent hop content for a pale lager. Solid for what it is.
