One of Australia’s first certified organic beers, Steam Ale is not your standard craft beer.

This brew is inspired by traditional steam beers, which are lagers brewed at warm, ale temperatures. We turned this technique on its head by brewing an ale at a cool, lager temperature, and landed at the same result.

Our Steam Ale is exactly what the original steam beer brewers set out to achieve: a crisp, refreshing beer that doesn’t compromise on character.

33 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 5.12.2013
Aroma is fruity with hops and apricot. It is a bit short, which tells me about low ABV. Flavour starts with fruity hops but turns rather quickly into hay, cardboard and minerals. Feels also watery. Well, at least the aroma was nice.

Hazy pale gold beer, little white head. Palate is light and airy. Minerally pale malt, insipid. A tiny bit of lemon citrus, barely there. Crisp dry finish. Pretty tasteless and disappointing.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Pale golden, light blurry in the glass and it has a nice medium sized white top. Not any extreme activities going on on the aroma, but it's light fruity, some hay tones, a little bit of berries and traces of thin watered down lemonade. It's about average on the carbonation and thin oily on the mouthfeel. Really easy to drink this. Only watery hints of grapefruit and melon. I actually like it for what it is. A non extreme steam beer. 03.05.2013

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours clear yellow with a pure, white foam head. Looks great. Dry pale malt nose, light dough. Light sweet flavor with white bread, pale malts, light straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Very clean finish with straw, pale dry dough. Lovely. Easy drinker. Quite refreshing amid all the high ABV stuff at the fest.

Fra fat på CBC mai-13: en lett og floral øl som sikkert er en super forfriskning i varmen Down Under. Her gjør den meg ingen tjenester. Vanskelig å hevde seg med 4,7% i et landskap av heavy duty stuff.
