Saison (French, "season,") is a broadly defined pale ale that is influenced by Saison Dupont Vieille Provision. Back in the day, saisons were a group of refreshing summer ales made by farmers and our Saison continues the tradition by rewarding a hard day's work in the fields with a summery, fruity drink. Actually, who needs hard work? Our Saison rewards lazy days in the fields too...
A golden colored beer, with citric and passion fruit aromas. Initial taste of smooth malt, hints of spicy coriander and tropical fruits leading to a dry bitter finish.
Ingredients: Pale Ale Malt, Imperial Malt; Hops 1) Galena Pilgrim 2) Nelson Sauvin 3) Citra.

Apparently the British Isles, or at least one of them in this case, are beginning to connect with the saison hype nowadays. This one has a very thick and creamy, frothy, snow white head and lightly hazy orange golden colour. Aroma of white bread, baked banana, apple peel, dried berries, biscuit, a touch of coriander but unfortunately some H2S (sewer water) as well. Subdued fruity taste, too subdued for a Belgian style ale actually, smooth, light mouthfeel, a bit caramelly with mild peppery and earthy hop bitterness in the end as well as some lingering coriander bittersweetness, but luckily subtle enough. More a hybrid between saison and English bitter than a true saison.

Cask. Clean, biscuity malt, citrus, maybe a bit of spice? Deep gold. Citrus and grass, crackery malt. Does not seem a saison at all, but good.
