Saison (French, "season,") is a broadly defined pale ale that is influenced by Saison Dupont Vieille Provision. Back in the day, saisons were a group of refreshing summer ales made by farmers and our Saison continues the tradition by rewarding a hard day's work in the fields with a summery, fruity drink. Actually, who needs hard work? Our Saison rewards lazy days in the fields too...
A golden colored beer, with citric and passion fruit aromas. Initial taste of smooth malt, hints of spicy coriander and tropical fruits leading to a dry bitter finish.
Ingredients: Pale Ale Malt, Imperial Malt; Hops 1) Galena Pilgrim 2) Nelson Sauvin 3) Citra.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. AMber with a tight cream head; aroma of autumn fruits; smooth and creamy with a fruity malt flavour, but ultimately rather thin; the finish is dry, nicely hopped and has more autumn fruit. Defintely not a Saison, but tasty nonetheless.

Cask @ The King’s Highway, Inverness
Amber, hazy, thin frothy white head, good lacing.
Aroma of fruity sweet malt...fruity esters..light citrus hop..pineapple..bit of mango
Taste of golden sweet malts, yeasty, some bread, bit of light citrus hop, cereal, flavour seems to go flat in the middle then the hop bitterness comes through......
Palate - Bitter hoppy dry finish with a hint a metal, bitterness lingers a bit long, soft carb, medium body.
I found the aroma a bit better than the taste - above average Golden Ale (not really a Saison).

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial rooms (JDW), Bristol 22/10/2011. Deep gold with a slight, off-white head. Light, slightly spicy aroma with some summer fruits. Slightly sweet malt aroma with some more fruit and a dryish finish. Good.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours copper-gold with a foamy, white head. Rich, sweet bread aroma. Bready flavor, light fruits and toffee, a slight tinge of alcohol. Light bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Sweet, sugary finish, more doughy bread, light yeast. Average stuff.

Cask handpull at Baker Street Spoons. Clear gold white disappearing head. Some fruity and sweaty sox aroma. Some acidity in mouth. Its hoppy on the finish a soft sherbert hop. Stale sock aroma isnt great but I quite like the hoppy finish. Moderate condition. Fizzing lasting finish
