Bottle: Poured a burgundy edged brown with a frothy light tan head. Aroma is rich with roasted malts, some stickiness in the nose as well. Taste is sweet caramel and roasted malt, not sugary, very smooth ans some fruit like character as well in the finish.

Dark copper, clear, tan head. Aroma of dark bread crusts, a little toffee, some dark fruit. Flavor is similar with lots of rich, toasty Munich malt, dark fruit, nuts, bready notes, warming alcohol. Easy drinking for a doppelbock. Well made.

Nice and smooth , mildly bitter and smoky. Dark brown to black with small but substantial beige head. Aroma is roast grains, semi sweet chocolate, peat and dried fruit. Taste is mildly sweet with a touch of bitterness. Almost as good as Salvator.....

A Doppelbock worth of drinking. Thin head to be noted. Aroma of roast and spice. Strong still not too alcoholic. Medium bitter taste. In comparison to Paulaner Salvator rather mediocre.
