12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 2/12/2016. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange rind, pine, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky/resinous, and creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.7%. Overall this is a very good IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Clear golden coloured body with the slightest bit of haze and an orange and very light glow, all with a single centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, the lightest amount of hops, alcohol, metal, and a touch of fruit. Medium-bodied; A hit of light hops up front mixed with some metal, a bit of light malt and a a little stale fruit flavours. Aftertaste shows a bitterness arriving from the metal, light hops, earthy malt and a funky cardboardie and stale flavour throughout. Overall, not such a great beer and fairly far removed from a ’traditional’ IPA - nice to try, given that it’s not local to me right now, but not worth buying if it’s easy for you to get. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 05-September-2013.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, hops, and some caramel, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours yellow with a slight haze and a lacing off-white head. Dry fruity nose with a biscuity twist. Medium body, again a very dry fruitiness before a massive bitterness comes rushing in. Problem is that it’s an unfocused bitterness with no real interesting aromatic features. 290512

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear copper gold with a white head that dissipated to the edges and laced. Aroma was full of pine with a bit of sweet grain and an underlying harsh grapefruit and resin. Flavor was similar with pine in the beginning balanced by a growing sweet grain and a backing harsh grapefruit note. Didn’t really come together for me.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours gold amber with just a white ring for a head. Mild citrus aroma with some soapy notes. Flavors of grapefruit, orange, and lemon from the citrus hops, plus a bit more strawberry-like flavor, along with a malty biscuit backbone in the background. Reminds me a lot of New Holland’s Mad Hatter. Surprisingly little bitterness for an IPA, though. Light and tasty IPA overall.
