Kärt barn har många namn. Älggräs, även kallat mjödört, byttogräs, karsöta med mera har vi ångat i byttor och hällt i mjödet innan jäsningen. Troligtvis en vanlig kryddning i mjöd förr i tiden. Trots att det är en relativt liten mängd vi använt, präglar älggräset mjödets karaktär tydligt, och verkar framträda mer ju längre det lagras. Tonerna liknar till viss del fläder, något som gör sig väl i det halvsöta mjödet på Mikael Sundströms honung. Älggräset är plockat kring Rombohöjden av Leif Berglund.

Bottle at mead tasting on November 2, 2012.Thanks to omhper!Clear pear color, no head. Sweet, vinous, hints of smoke scent. Leaves oily legs in the glass. Sweet, smoke, honey, tast taste. Smooth mouthfeel, dry tart finish. Also sweet aftertaste. Some warming alcohol.

Bottle at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2012. Clear green/grape liquid. Aroma of honey, booze, herbs, spices and some vegetables. Taste is light sweet, herbal and light bitter. Medium bodied. A bit weird.

Very pale yellow color. Light aroma of honey, then followed by delicate notes of perfume, flowers, eucalyptus, fruit pie. Semi-dry mouthfeel, with a mineral presence; light and plain mead flavor, with notes of cookies, very light touch of spices and vanilla; the acidity seems to be quite low; in the final there is a pleasant alcohol warmth.

Bottle 750ml. @ PBF2012.Clear light yellow colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate honey, sweet honey, grass notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, dry, spicy notes - maybee mint. Body is medium, texture is watery - syrupy, carbonation is flat. [20120727]
