A pale, bottom-fermented "double-malt" beer. A specility strong lager. A full-bodied, rounded beer with a good, long-lasting head. A good bitter-sweet balance. This beer is characterised by strong malty aromas with an initial sweetness complemented by a final intense hop aroma.

75 cl bottle @ wPBF’14, BBE 02.10.2014
Aroma has sweetish malty notes, syrup and some roastiness. Flavour has bready malt, some cocoa and chocolate. Some bitterness in the finish. Balanced, better than I expected.

First U.S. rate. 750mL bottle poured into a large white wine glass. The only reason I purchased this beer is because there are no ratings for it or the 3.5 version. I picked this up at the Wine & Cheese Place in StL, can it be that it was the only store to get these beers? The best aspect of this beer is the presentation starting with the bottle. Its an original 750mL shaped bottle, its embossed, decorated cap, what else can one ask for. The pour is nice, thick head, dark chestnut colored body. If beer was all about presentation then we got ourselves a winner. Unfortunately, I have more than one sense. The rest of it is your generic Euro dark lager. The nose is starting to turn just a little sour, probably age at this point. A slightly sweet lager, pretty light, leafy, metallic, meh.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Sweet burned caramel in the nose - very clean. Medium body, sweet caramel and subtle caramel, a little metal and sulphur before a dry and hoppy finish. Gets quite boozy late. Drinkable. 290512
