A strong interpretation of an Irish Red Ale. Part of the batch has been aged in wheat whiskey barrels, and then reintroduced adding subtle wood and vanilla nuances.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy red-amber color with almost no head. Bread, malt and caramel dominate this beer; the body is robust and there is some residual sweetness; the wheat whiskey seems to provide a note out of tune that leads into a strange but mild astringency. It has some pleasant fruity esters.
Weird but not bad.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a crazy dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted caramel, bready malt and a little toffee. Flavour is rather robust for the style, with bready malt, toasted caramel, and lightly sweet toffee. Bold for the style and well-constructed all around. Very good.

A reddish copper ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with light butterscotch notes, light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light treacle, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of butterscotch, light mineral notes, light treacle, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

Bottle at Hunah Day. Pours a clear copper with thick beige head that lasts. The aroma is caramel, spice, toasted malt. Medium body, similar flavors to nose, light finish, good.

Bouteille 60cl, batch# 4092, bottled 02/05/2015 courtesy of Asheft, IP trade in Brussels, thanks Alex.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear deep copper with a small tan head. Toasty nose with toffee, wood and vanilla. Medium sweet caramel and honey with only very light bitterness and more vanilla appearing. Mouth is on the thin side of medium and slick with average carbonation. Decent Red ale.

(bottle) clear amber colour with a small white head; aroma of stewed fruit; refreshing, wheat-like flavour with long light bitter finish; pleasant if unexceptional

Bottle: Poured a clear copper color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt notes with some notes of whiskey and vanilla which brings nice character. Taste is also a mix between sweet caramelized malt notes some whiskey and vanilla notes that are not overwhelming. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Quite enjoyable and I really liked the well balanced usage of whiskey barrels.

Bouteille 600ml.

Ok but a little heavy on sweet side for me. Pours clear reddish orange. Not much head or lacing. Aroma has prominent booze, malt and sugar water. Thickish consistency. Finish sweet and astringent. As all Beaus, too expansive by bottle for quality of product. Good that I found it on tap at Only Cafe.
