Keg at SBWF. Near black, coarse beige head. Rich vanilla aroma. Mid sweet with medium-full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Coffee with sugar and vanilla. Slightly warming finish with hints of syrup.

Bottle at home. Opaque black with thin creme head. Big sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, molasses, roasted coffee beans, marshmallows, vanilla. Over medium sweet and light cocoa bitter. Over medium to full body, soft carbonation. A bit boozy and thin supple feel to it. Sweet vanilla and bitter chocolate finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of 400 Volt on 21 Dec 2017 at 23:34 - Score: 8. Original review text: 4

Thanks!!! 330 ml. bottle. BBF 07/2021. Second batch. Today is the day of the release so this is super fresh hopefully the vanilla is massive still. Black with a touch of very dark brown, little mocha bubbles. Nose is umami, vegetable qualities with big vanilla beans. Needs to warm a bit. It is faintly vegetable, very cheap chocolate, vanilla is quite big which is lovely, sugar, finish is low alcohol, bit plants, vegetable. Low carbonation (it was also stored at my place for the past 8 days & not the warm room at the brewery). Base isn’t perfect for me, bit too vegetable, herbal, low umami,… It isn’t perfect but the big vanilla finish does make me happy. Bourbon sadly isn’t very clear to me. I isn’t perfect but I am quite happy. P.S.: I am surprised that I didn’t pick out the Sorachi Ace in this one.

Donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. In het aroma komt de vanille echt naar boven. In de smaak is de vanille lekker gecombineerd met de dropsmaak. In de nasmaak komt de hop naar voren.

Sampled from draught @ Oirschots Bierfestival 2016. Opaque daek brown to black color, medium sized beige head. Aroma is malts, vanilla, vanilla sweetness. Taste malts, dark malts, vanilla and again some vanilla sweetness, light malt bitter in the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Well done!
