On tap at Beachwood, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is full of earthy roasted malt, light dry cocoa and crusty bread. Flavour is powerful, with assertive roasted malt, a bit of the British bready malt character coming through, and backed with an assertive piney hop balance. Fairly dry, roasty, and bitter finish. Excellent.

Dæ va' kvess sa Arne mens smilene bredte seg rundt bordet. Eminent drikkbar.

Keg at The Rake. It pours cloudy dark - black with a thick tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, umami, vimto, sherbet, cacao, coffee and earth. The taste is dry, chewy malt, earthy, wood, charred earth, leather, brown bread, leather, tannin, coffee grounds and cacao with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit chewy. Fair enough stout, but lacks the wow factor for me.

On draught at the Seal Beach brewpub. Brown-black pour with a medium foamy tan head that dissipates steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and hops. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, coffee, fruity hops and a touch of spicy rye. The finish is roasty malt up front with a hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

GABF 2014. Pours a dark brown / black appearance with a dark brown head. Lots of roasty notes - some chocolate, light coffee, spice, light pine, and earth. Pretty tasty.
