Bottle, nearly 3 years past the BBD. Pours clear copper brown with airy but stable light tan head. Clear aroma of fruit and caramel, with malty and hoppy notes and touches of yeast. Dusty and vinous flavour, with notes of hops and touches of caramel malt. Bitter and dusty aftertaste with sligtly vinous hints. Well-balanced and, yes, well-aged!

Flavour is bready and caramel malts along with some plum, fruity and floral hops as well as some slight notes of alcohol as well. Quite nice balance, with a slight spiciness kicking through in the finish.

Bottle. An unclear, dark brown beer topped by a dense, beige head of moderate size. The aroma is malty, boozy and quite hoppy. Pine cones, caramel, some oxidation, and a little meaty hint. Grapefruit too. It’s warming and full-bodied on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Citrus peel, caramel, pine cones, alcohol and roasted notes. Lasting bitter finish with too much warmth. A messy one. 140420
