Draught from Blind Tiger. Classic saison pour of slightly orange gold, nice floral aroma; yeasty and clean hops bitterness were the primary flavors.

Bottle. Cloudy, gold in color with a three finger head. Hoppy like an IPA with the spice like a Saison. A nice beer.

330ml bottle

Pours hazy yellowish with a small white head. Aroma of spices, fruits, yeast, citrus and lemon. Taste is yeasty, spicy and ripe fruity with some lemon and citrus. Finish is sweetish, spicy and yeasty with some stuffy notes and lemon. Okay.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room, San Diego. Bottled 1.4.2015. Aroma has grassy hops and funky yeasty notes. Also urinal. Flavour has biscuits, cereal, urinal tones, grassy and grapefruity hops. Unusual, more sweet than Nøgne version.

Bottle. Aroma is green onion, herbs, light grapefruit. Notes of grass.

This is not normally a style that suites me well because it is a oxymoron of a style "hoppy" saison. But I’ m happy that this actually works for a change. The yeast is alive and well and gives a mile spicy note. The hops show herbal and grassy notes that turns dry in texture. Body is medium with pale malts and fruit from either the yeast or hops, not sure what element gives that element. Damn, overall pretty tasty. I may not ever get to try the other version of this brew but no matter, I enjoyed this well enough.

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle ($5.50): pours lightly hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, yeast, some basement funk it seems, and maybe some perfume. Taste is light and refreshing. Nice hoppy tanginess. Dry finish. Dry finish and lightly hoppy aftertaste lingers for a bit. Hoppy yet delicate. I like it.
