Pumpkin beers have been an American tradition since the pilgrims hit Plymouth Rock while Oktoberfest beers have been brewed in Germany since not long after Prince Ludwig got hitched in 1810. Now Terrapin is “carving” out our own special brew by combining these two great styles into a unique PUMPKINFEST beer...This Side Project has all the complex maltiness of a great Oktoberfest lager with the delicate spiciness of grandma’s fresh baked pumpkin pie.

12oz can pours a clear amber with some frothy, white head. Nose is what you want, what you expect, spice, brown sugar, clove, cinnamon, some definite root vegetable, maybe more sweet potato than pumpkin. Flavor is a bit weaker, but still nice, floral, some root veg, some brown sugar, then spice, pepper, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg. Dry finish. Well done.

(Thanks, James "jbruner") Can. A- Pumpkin, pie spice, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon. A- Amber color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Pumpkin, spices. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish. O- By all means this is pumpkin pie in a glass. One of the better pumpkin beers I’ve had. Gives me hope for this niche style.

This pumpkin poured a med/Amber colour with a nice tan, foamy head. Scents include spice, pumpkin and sweet malt with a touch of ripe fruit. First swig was a little watery with flavours of pumpkin and hops. Finish was bitter with spice flavour lingering.
