Pumpkin beers have been an American tradition since the pilgrims hit Plymouth Rock while Oktoberfest beers have been brewed in Germany since not long after Prince Ludwig got hitched in 1810. Now Terrapin is “carving” out our own special brew by combining these two great styles into a unique PUMPKINFEST beer...This Side Project has all the complex maltiness of a great Oktoberfest lager with the delicate spiciness of grandma’s fresh baked pumpkin pie.

Bomber pours pure copper with gold edges and smooth yet bumpy tan head. The full aroma emits canned pumpkin, spices and cinnamon as well as lesser amounts of malts and graham cracker. The taste begins sweet with malts quickly turning a bit tart with tannins along with pumpkin and spice. The spice notes pick up a bit midway and then give way to a modest level of pumpkin. It ends with malts, a touch of grains, faint pumpkin and fading spice.

Pours clear orange color with white head. Aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg. Similar flavors. Medium body with average carbonation.

Sweet and spicy aroma. Pumpkin and nutmeg are easily recognized while orange and grapefruit can be detected underneath. Crystal clear dark orange with a medium tan head. Sweet pumpkin flavor with a considerably bitter nutmeg and tree bark finish.Almost a creamy mouthfeel. I didn’t get the maltiness the brewer has been touting, but it is a marvelous beer anyway.

pours copper, beige head. Aroma is of pumpkin with the spices being up front, malty with hints of hops in the finish, hints of spices, cinnamon. Flavor, similar to aroma, spicy up front with a light peppery mouthfeel followed by pumpkin adding a thin bready / malty palate.
