This long-time favorite brewers’ choice beer was created to hop us challenge expectations and keep us true. We now expose it to you.
Using roasted barley, chocolate malt, and Midnight Wheat (tm), KGB has a color that is as dark as a torrid past, a body as full as a well kept dossier, and a taste a complex as a conspiracy theory.

KLCC Microbrewfest ’09, Rating #1400: Near black pour with a nice sized brown head. Aroma is rich and sweet with a caramlized sugar and roasty blend. Some bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is deep with roastiness, more chocolate, coffee, and some hop bitters. Complex, yet well balanced and intense. Excellent!

On Tap At Widmer Brothers brewery/pub in Portland OR. pours out a black topped with a tan head. A nice mix of malt and smoke.

[At GABF 2004] A pitch black beer with an orange head. The arom is great with loads of chocolate as well as notes of coffee. The flavor is also great: sweet with notes of chocolate turning towards prunes to end up like coffee on a subtle background of alcohol.

Surprisingly light bodied, but its complexity of chocolate, liquorices, dark fruit and bourbon played well into my palate and didn’t disappoint in the least.
