Brewed with roasted malts that offer up caramel, chocolate and coffee notes, Summit Great Northern Porter is a slightly sweet, slightly bitter brew. A complex malts and bold hop blend give off a toasted, chocolatey finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Skyview. Pours brown with an orange hue and a beige head leaving a discreet lacework. Sweet roasty nose, licore up there as well. Medium body, good roastiness bordering a little ashy. Ends with a slightly malt bitter finish. Straight and well made - delivers more than the color promised. 190412

12 ounce bottle from Belmont Party Supply. Pours a dark ruby color with a medium frothy brown head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Faint nuts and hops also. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, a bit of a lactic note and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. Well balanced. Quite good.

Bottle: Great appearance, dark brown with a finger of creamy beige head. Roasty nose with light chocolate and espresso. The flavor is full of roast with moderate espresso. Lightly bittersweet. Rich. Very good.

Bottle from Beer Geek. Pours dark brown/black with a decent light tan head. Aromas of dark roast malt with coffee and chocolate. Rather full bodied with frothy carbonation. Flavor is coffee, dark roast/burnt malt and maybe a little chcoolate. The finish is slightly sweet. But the dark elements balance that. Not sure why this is perceived as thin by so many. Maybe cause it thins as the carbonation leaves?
