50 cl swing top bottle, souvenir from Budapest, shared in Beer Temple with kermis, maakun, scotty001 and Floris (RB name?). Clear dark brown color (not quite black). Beige head. Aroma’s: roasted malts, chocolate, light vegetal. Retronasal there’s it’s fruit, moderate sweet, some alcohol. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted, droppig. Medium bodied. Finishes with roast and chocolate. Expectations weren’t too high but it was decent enough.

Bottle shared thanks to Potje Bier. Very dark brown with good sized beige head. Lots of sweet malts and licorice, dark chocolate, some dust and dried berries, quite alcoholic too. Quite sweet, almost medium bitter and very light sour. Almost full bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and light burning medicinal alcohol.

Dark brown to black colored, no head, only small tan ring. Aroma is of roasted malt, bit brown sugar, burnt notes, some dark fruit. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, roasted malt, burnt sugar, maybe some molasses, bit toasted bread and more burnt notes, medium- roasted bitterness, alcohol mostly hidden. Medium bodied, flat carbonation, bit creamy.

Bottle from Kisüzem, Pécs, shared with ogivlado and kajser. Clear daaaaark brown body, vague remains of an off white head. Heavy malty aroma, vaguely chocolatey, ethanol. soft. Pleasant, slightly too alcoholic, OK. Taste... Soft, cardboard, dry, not that pleasant, cocoa, vague alcohol, limp mouthfeel that doesn’t help it. This needs work, a lot of work and perhaps a revision of the recipe. It lacks complexity, body and mouthfeel. Sorry, but this, while without off flavors, is not a good RIS. Fóti can do better.

Dark color, with a medium beige head, disappearing. The aroma and the taste reveal some roasted malt notes, ash, but quite bland. What’s coming more is the alcohol, too much. Not easy to drink, I could drink just a little bit, probably less than two deciliters. Disappointing, and overprized considering it’s nothing special. I really like their Keseru Mez (especially draught), but this other beer no, good quality Imperial Stout are very different than this.

0.5l bottle. Reddish black body, light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, earthy hops and some booze. Taste of chocolate, caramel, berries, peppery booze and spicy hops. The finish is a bit harsh for me. Not bad at all, but the alcohol is a bit too obvious and the body is a bit too thin for an imperial stout.
