Even you landlubbers can enjoy the great taste of the Yachtsmans ale! The addition of roasted malt produces a rich brown beer and mouthfeel, counterbalanced by sufficient hops to rise to the nose and refresh the throat of the most parched of sailors in a subtle complexity of flavours and texture.

Almost clear deep gold - amber beer, small but tidy off white head. Light palate, a very mild dryness, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a little cream and a little caramel. Mild pine into mellow but juicy ripeish orange hops. Light finish. Old skool mellow ale done well.

500ml bottle bought at Lifecraft in Cowes. Shared with Finn. Clear dark brownish body, film-type layer leaving rings of lace down the glass. Moderate smell of earthy malts, mid-sweet. Fine blended taste of caramel, earth, and resinous bitterness towards the ending. Easy to drink and easy to like. (Hotel room, Southsea 20.10.2022).

Pandaaaa, enormous thanks SHIG! My first Isle Of Wight tick! Dark amber-red body, off-white head. Sweetish fruity aroma, estery stone fruit, creamy, lightly caramelly, grainy. Lean, dry taste, lightly caramelly, ending herbal, bitterish and dry, yay, twiggy bitter! Trace coffee. Pretty okay beer all in all, not exciting, not bad.

Bottle from a stall at Tulleys Farm, Crawley. Pours a clear copper/deep amber colour with hardly any head. Aromas of toffee, caramel and toasty bread. Taste has more toffee and caramel, with burnt bread, biscuit and a fair amount of roasted malt on a bitter earthy hop finish. Medium body, fairly low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Decent Best Bitter.
