Bottle from Tops. Dark brown. Roasted malts, coffee, bit of fruits. A bit creamy. Decent enough.

Food Lion bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is cocoa powder, roasted malt. Flavor is slightly sweet chocolate, roasted malt, light bread crust. Decent.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy dark tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was a bit sour and roasty with a bit of vanilla. The flavor was malty, toasty and roasty with notes of vanilla and cola. Medium length malty and roasty vanilla and cola finish. Medium body.

Pours black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Chocolate syrup aromas. Astringent with dry sour caramel and chocolate front to back. Lasting charred bitter finish.

Bottle at brother’s wedding shower. Pours black-brown with a creamy tan head. Nose of ashy roast and burnt toast. Light sweet flavor with dry ashes, minerals, mild earthy bitterness, charred wood. Light bodies with fine to average carbonation. Lightly bitter to finish, more ashy roast, mild cocoa, dry earth. Fine.

Bottle 12fl.oz.Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, sweet malt - chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120419]

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malty and breadish. Dark roasted. Sweet caramelish, breadish and roasted. Light liqourice note. Ends bitter and smooth dark malty.
