Rated as Mai-Bock.
Test vom 28.7.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,8,11,7,12,7 - 8,50

Bottle 330ml. @ home.ABV: 6.9%. Light unclear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, sugar, light orange fruity - fruit. Initial flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate grass bitter, finish flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate nutty bitter with a long duration, fruity, sweet malt, riped fruit - ???, walnuts notes. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft. [20120417]

Toasty caramel colour with light hae. Toasty nose with maybe some roasty cherry character. Some deep malts with tart dark fruits. An odd example, to say the least. Not my favourite type of bock.

Bottled@Abseits. Deep ruby colour, small beige head. Aroma is sweet malts, some vegetably notes as well as dark dry fruits. Flavour is mild roasted malts, some dark dry fruits, rye and mild acidic notes. Probably slightly infected bottle, but otherwise very nice. Seems like Beershine did have a worse bottle.

Had this as Haberstumpf Maibock. The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Flavor is dissapointung: too soapy, metallically and dry, should be much sweeter. Unbalanced finish. Not so good!

Bottle - thanks a lot pivnizub! Red amber under a golden lacing head. Fairly peppery, berrylike and slightly clayish aroma. Complex enoux flavor: Blueberry, nutty, herbal, limepeel - light metallic finish. Medium body, light and sparkly on the tongue. Berry aftertaste. Very nice!

bottle, thanks to pivnizub. Reddish brown colour, small head. Flavours of roasted malt, wild berries and spicy hops. I liked the hoppiness of the brew, not as sticky-sweet as many Bocks are. There is something Belgian about it. Had I tried this beer without knowing where it was from, I would have said it was from Belgium, as it somehow reminds me of an Abbey Dubbel.

(33cl bottle) Clear, reddish amber colour with a medium-sized, slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet, moderately toasted malt aroma, also very nutty (chestnuts) with a fruity note (red berries), a shy touch of hops and a spicy ethereal element. Sweet flavour, nutty toast-malty taste with light notes of caramel and a subtle fruity component; medium bodied; moderately carbonated mouthfeel; sweet and toasty malt-accented finish with balancing hop bitterness. The fruitiness, even though it is subtle, makes the brew somewhat Belgian-like.

Bottle (purchased at the brewery): Clear, light amber coloured, quickly collapsing off-white head; sweet toasted malt and dark berries in the otherwise oaky hoppy nose; robust bitter-sweet flavour, medium-bodied; shy citrousy, orangey fruitiness in the distinctive, lingering bitter-aromatic finish. A very pleasant Bock, extremely well quaffable and moreish...........
