A warming, dark bitter ale, with a roasted malt taste. Very easy to drink for its strength. A strong mild.

Sweet and light roasted malty, light cocoa and dark fruity notes, fruit cake, caramel and toffee sweetness, hoppy undertones surfacing, low soft cask carbonation and a medium body, lingering malty finish. Nice.

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. I've lost my notes for this one but do recall it has intense chocolate and caramel notes in the aroma and taste with a nice smooth body, leaving it both rich and moreish but not too heavy at the same time. An excellent beer.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Clear ruby/amber body with a thin beige head. Low carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of dumpling, coffee and rust. Flavour of nuts, copper and stewed tea. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A delicious beery beer. I’d love to try this on cask.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from the Trembling Madness in York. Pours clear reddish brown with an amble, frothy khaki head. Really nicely rounded, lots of leathery berries, a little earthy hop, toasted toffee and leaves. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Balanced finish, moderate English yeast, well toasted town bread, burnt caramel. Great fun.
