[Thanks to omhper]. 33cl bottle. Black colour with a good formation of tan head. Excellent lasting and nice lacework on the glass. Aroma has toasted malts notes, slightly sweet, wooden similar to any Imperial Stout. Flavour has dark coffee notes, black chocolate, strong to toasted malts and mild alcoholic. Dense on palate with a final slightly bittery with an average duration. Carbonation is soft to medium. Texture is oily. Body is medium to high.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 1 Oct 2011) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark bread, chocolate, toast and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with notes of toast, coffee, chocolate, dark bread and mild hints of vanilla. More than medium body, slightly sweet, with a generous coffee bitterness. Nice one. Rerate: (Bottle, 24 Feb 2014) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark rye bread, oak wood, chocolate, mocha, dried fruit (figs, dates), chocolate and a touch of soy sauce. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark bread, dark chocolate, coffee, oak wood, dates, hints of tar and peat. A certain cocoa bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, fairly dry. A bit different, with soft and mellow flavours for its strength. Nice one. Same figures for both ratings.

Draught@SBWF2011. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is mild roast, some caramelly notes, fruits, sweet malts and mild wooden notes. Flavour is rather similar with some slight alcohol. The oaked notes come through much better in the flavour. Hoppy and wooden finish.
