‘Ondergronds’ (underground) immediately evokes the image of a coal miner with a layer of dust on his face, working hard in the extensive underground passageways. The roasted malt largely determines the colour, aroma, and flavour of this beer. The beer turns black as coal in the glass and has a cream-coloured foam head. Kompel Ondergronds undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle so the beer is protected better and develops a more complex character.

First brewed at Brouwerij Anders! Between 2015-2019 the beer was brewed at Kasteelbrouwerij De Dool.

Bottle at home. Slight hazy reddish brown with a bit fizzy beige head. Brown sugar, light apple, mineral water, paper, plum skins, light tart exotic berries. Under medium sweet and itter with soft tartness in the finish. Just medium bodied with a bit watery feel. It’s quite bland, not even just sweet like a lot of dubbels but just very plain. Meh.

Sampled at Zythos 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours muddy brown, ok white head. No real smell. Tatse is sweet, dark Sugar, thin, wattery. Bit bitter by the overcarbonation.

Re-rate 4 years later, now they're currently brewed at de proef. unlike the blond, this version seems to not have changed that much. keeping the Original score, nothing worthy left to add in words either.
