Bouteille. [notes 2005]

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. The aroma is belgian yeast, apple skin, spice. Medium mouth, dark fruit, brown sugar, spice, boozy finish, very good.

From 2010 file notes. This before I was into Belgians. Poured dark brown with big head. Strange spicy aroma. Tastes spicy and malty. (Think some of this idea has gotten into a few TJ’s yearly ales)

Wow what a great beer. Shared by my brother-in-law, thanks R. Poured a hazy orange-brown with a some white head. Noses of orange, lemons, mint. Tastes similarly of citrus, a mild minty freshness that didn’t linger, honey and Belgian yeast. Creamy mouthfeel. A very delicious, refreshing, very unique beer. Of course you can’t get it anymore. Le sigh.

Bottle shared by Todd last night. Slightly hazy copper brown color with a smallish head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is filled with overpowering spices atop a faint brown sugary caramel malt base. The flavor is not a bit different. Medium to thick body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet spicy mouthfeel. Not bad for a ten year old beer, but too heavy on the spicing for my taste

C&C 750 mL bottle shared by Beerandblues2 at the Baltimore Irish Chanukah tasting, 3/17/12. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus hops, yeast, bread, brown sugar, spice, ginger, herbal finish, some oxidation notes. The taste is spices, candied citrus, vanilla, bread. The spice lingers. Medium bodied.
